“Although we have to safeguard our language, we should not forget its inevitable evolution,” he added.
He believes that language belongs to people, who make and use its words.
“It doesn’t surely unburden the Iranian literary men’s duty to preserve the language,” warned the poet adding, “However, it is not logical to think that loanwords weaken a language.”
“Persian language has developed its roots and created more words despite different nations’ invasion over the history,” Mohaqeq recalled.
He noted some TV or radio programs temporarily inject odd words and expressions into daily language of people especially children, but they fall into oblivion after sometime.
